Testing out my blog with a language translator
Posted on Saturday, December 15th, 2007 under blogging, site update by Dustin Brewer.I recently found a Wordpress plugin that allows for the translation using Google translate (or babelfish) of my entire site. I know that I get quite a bit of traffic from all over the world and so I thought it may help to have a translation available in various languages. I only speak English so it is tough for me to tell how well the translator is working. I think it is a very rough translation but probably gets the point across better then most can translate from English to their native tongue. At any rate my site is now available in Italian, German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, and Russian. My web design news will hopefully be better understood in all of these languages.
There should be more coming in the future I’m sure. The Wordpress plugin I have used is called Global Translater by nothing2hide.

I get the Google “automated requests from a computer virus” message whenever I click on any of the other languages.
Thanks for letting me know, I guess I will test out either Babelfish as an alternative or see if there is a way for Google translator to accept that my blog isn’t a virus. haha.
It works great (almost in Spanish, only some verbs are in infinitive)
I have to improve my English, I’m sorry by grammal mistakes.
Greetings form Spain.
hi, I recently create a blog and I would like to add language translator. Can you tell me how you did it? I don’t know anything about Wordpress plugins. can you send me and e-mail with the link or scripts?
Thanks.
Have the translated pages helped to increase your traffic by much?
@Gilbert I have noticed an increase in international traffic since I started the translations. I have also noticed a lot more international links to my site also.
I’m assuming in most cases the links are praising the article and site. It could, however, just be saying that it reads like a paper a forth grader would get an F on though. It is hard to say, not being multi-lingual.
translation of web pages to attract traffic. this is one good idea that can triple a web site’s traffic.
Damn, that sound’s so easy if you think about it.
Hello.
Did you ever think about creating your own blog? There are many great platforms, but by far the best is Wordpress. It is fast to set up, however the themes just never fit my desires. I looked for a simple solution to this problem and realized that there wasn’t one. I then had a template custom made for my needs and was so happy with the outcome. I then decided to build a website that would show the world how to easily hire an expert in wordpress design.

Hi! I was surfing and found your blog post… nice! I love your blog.
Cheers! Sandra. R.
Love the blog.
Yeah, I use Google Translator for my sites and blogs.
Unfortunately, the translator script doesn’t show up in Safari on any of my Wordpress blogs.
I’m just searching for answers, haven’t found any yet.
I wonder what it could be.
I don’t know If I said it already but …This blog rocks! I gotta say, that I read a lot of blogs on a daily basis and for the most part, people lack substance but, I just wanted to make a quick comment to say I’m glad I found your blog. Thanks,
