New SEO extension for Firefox
Posted on Thursday, September 13th, 2007 under browser news, firefox, social marketing by Dustin Brewer. The guys over at 97th floor have been testing and now released to the public a Firefox extension that adds a status bar to the bottom of Firefox and lists Digg, Reddit, Stumbleupon and del.icio.us numbers for the current page you are on. The Social Media for Firefox extension is quick and easy way to check all of the sites without having to visit them or hope the site has the option built in. This new extension is has been an awesome addition to my status bar where I have Aaron Wall’s SEO for Firefox and Search Status extensions.
It also adds the functionality on the aforementioned sites of showing what the others sites are ranked at for that page. Which is an awesome little feature for all of the social marke… media web sites out there.

This plugin annoys me more than it helps.
It’s these kind of plugins, that work so seamlessly, that keep me coming back to Firefox. Well, truthfully, I still think Opera is the best. They have the best interface, and I just enjoy using them. But, second to them comes Firefox, especially since there is so much development around it and because it works so well on pretty much all platforms. Running on Linux, like I do, is probably ideal but Opera also works better on Linux than on Windows (uh… like most things.) This a great plugin, I’m really keen to see it in action.
I have some questions:
1. Is Social Media for Firefox capable of knowing whether a site has broken pages or none?
2. If I have the Search Status should I uninstall it first before installing this?
3. Will this work hand in hand with McAfee Site Advisor?
Have you also come across with Alexa Toolbar and the McAfee Site Advisor? I’m using it to check sites of owners who are applying to become an affiliate to our Affiliate Programs. I hope you can write a review about these two cool plug-ins too.
