PayPerPost now a viable (and responsible) sponsor?

PayPerPost has received a lot of bad publicity in the past for allowing anyone to post any article on the most ridiculous blogs and for previously not requiring the author to disclose that they are writing a sponsored article. That has all changed lately with their implementation of Alexa rank, Technorati rank, Google rank and a new tact rating that is based off of votes on posts made by users from sponsors. (more…)

Adobe releases Apollo public alpha

Adobe has announced their public alpha release of the Apollo runtime environment. This new technology developed by Adobe will allow developers (and designers) to implement cross-platform applications with flash, Dreamweaver, Ajax and other previously online-only tools for offline desktop use. An indepth look at Adobe Photoshop CS3

Adobe Photoshop CS3 AboutIt looks like Adobe CS3 is just around the corner and we are getting small glimpses of what is to come out of this software. According to reports the full version of the software is to be due out in Spring of this year. Although you must go out of your way apparently to sign up for the beta or regress to only getting 30 days out of the beta software. This is all in part to piracy and serial mix up for some legitimate users of Adobe CS3. Don’t worry though, Adobe has a CS3 serial generator that can help the misfortunate people that got left out in the cold. (more…)

Libel suits get immunity on the web

It looks like the Supreme Court has ruled protection over online libel suits. This means that if you post malicious or defaming information or write something of that nature about someone online that you can not be sued for it. Only the source of the defaming information can be at fault. For example, if someone in my comments posts something bad about George Bush I won’t get in trouble but the source could be tracked down and sued for defamation. Granted, that is an extreme case. (more…)

On Web Standards, is your document considered modern by browsers?

Ok, so as many of as know there is a lot more then meets the eye when it comes to web page designing. You have to ensure that your web page is compatible in most of the browsers and that it works the way you want it to work on the end user’s side. So just making the web site look pretty is at best of the battle. It may be even less with ugly web sites like MySpace and YouTube being so popular, look at Google… simple, functional and to the point. These are all the most visited web sites on the Internet and they are close to the ugliest, but this isn’t about that. This is about XHTML validating your web sites and attempting to use an advertiser that complies.

I finally after a day and a half of working through all of the included pages in this web was able to get the web site W3C validated for XHTML 1.1. Which is an awesome thing to have, especially when it comes to SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The search engines will favor the web sites that meet W3C standards because if they do, they are obviously web sites with good content because they adhere to the standards. (more…)
