Back from vacation, with some links

I went to Galveston Island in Texas over the weekend for a little weekend retreat to the beach. It was great. So I missed the link roundup for last week and I’m coming close to missing the CSS trick / hack for the week. But I won’t miss them and I’m here now to provide everyone with some quality links. This first link comes from one of my favorite blogs, Dumb Little Man talks about ways to avoid distractions at work. This one is a really useful one for people like me that like to read blogs at work or get distracted easily by things like Foosball games and such.

This next link comes from another one of the great blogs that I like to read which is Smashing Magazine. They give us a lot of very handy shortcuts to use within various programs. These are meant for developers and can save you a ton of time. I consider myself quite the keyboard shortcut junkie so I love lists like these. I will probably throw some lists out myself soon for Photoshop and some other programs I use frequently.

This next article is from a great magazine, it is actually the Digital Web Magazine which is an awesome resource for some very well written articles. They talk about corporate web standards in this article which can be very handy to follow with almost every project. It is of course extremely important to adhere to standards wherever possible within our line of work.

The next to last link I would like to share with everyone comes from 456 Berea Street where Roger talks about screen readers briefly and gives some good link resources for learning more about screen readers and magnifiers from Yahoo’s user interface blog. That was a two for one.

Now finally last but very much (cliché) not least. We go over to Boagworld, one of my favorite web design podcasts, where he has a video brought to us from the interwebs about the great internet crash of 2007. Which of course is a satirical piece and very, very funny for those of us in the social networking scene.

I will have more links this Friday and I hope to make the deadline this time on the post. I apologize for missing it these last couple weeks, things have been hectic with vacation, work and sitting.
